Don’t be fooled by those lingering grey clouds, because summer is finally here. School’s out, vacations are being planned, and here are a few tips to make this summer not only more fun, but also safer and healthier.
Coconut is the new water: Yes Gatorade is nutritious and delicious, but how about trying something new this summer to quench your thirst? Zico water is the ultimate hydration drink containing loads of potassium, electrolytes and a whopping ZERO cholesterol, and ZERO fat! Zico is not only refreshing and nutritious after exercising, but also comes in many flavors such as pineapple, mango, pomberry, chocolate or all natural. If coconut water just isn’t for you, try MammaChia as an alternative.
Just keep swimming: With hope for hot weather in the near future (*fingers crossed*), swimming becomes a popular event during the summer. While swimming is fun and keeps you cool, it is also one of the best ways to exercise. Many community pools charge a fee, so why not go for a dip in one of the many lakes around Washington. Just make sure you use the buddy system while splashing around in the water.
Don’t be boring: “Turn off the TV! Go outside! Do something!” Sound familiar? It may sound cliché, but try challenging yourself to try something new this summer. Whether it’s trying a new restaurant, joining a new gym, rock climbing, or learning a new instrument, try it out! Like my Mother always says, “don’t say you don’t like it until you’ve tried it.”
