Summer is the right time to get fresh! With fruits and vegetables in peak season, it’s a snap to eat delicious foods every day. Feast your eyes, nourish your body, and feed your soul with vitamin-packed and nutritious summer-ripened fruits and vegetables.

Eating well is easy. When you choose produce that’s in season the benefits are more than the luscious flavors, you get a powerful dose of nutrients such as calcium, iron, folate, and potassium (to name a few!) which all help in keeping your body strong and healthy.

Grilling is a perfect and simple way to prepare vegetable at their most nutritious and peak flavor. Or try a refreshing (and nutritious!) watermelon salad. It’s easy to get fresh.

Watermelon Salad
2 cups of watermelon, cut in bite-size chunks
1 pint ripe cherry tomatoes, cut in half
6 large basil leaves
½ cup crumbled feta cheese
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 ½ tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Directions:
Place the tomatoes and watermelon into a mixing bowl. Sprinkle with basil, feta cheese, and lemon zest. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Toss gently. Season to taste with salt and pepper before serving.
