4 tips for glowing skin this summer
Summer is here. Is your skin ready?
We all want healthy, clear, glowing skin. Especially in the summer as we’re in and out of water, wearing less makeup, and attending several weddings and summer events. Here are 4 simple tips for obtaining your ultimate summer glow.
1. Protect yourself from the sun
We’ve heard it a million times, “always wear sunscreen”. But this truly is one of the most important tips to maintaining healthy, glowing skin. Choose a daily moisturizer with a built in SPF, that way you don’t have to remember to pack sunscreen (but you still should.) Also, wear a hat or bring an umbrella to the beach. Protecting yourself won’t stop you from getting a nice tan, but it will keep your skin looking young, smooth, and healthy.
2. Eat a healthy diet
Drop the dairy, pick up the veggies. Even organic dairy products contain cow hormones that stimulate your oil glands and your pores, which can lead to acne. Veggies naturally contain virtually all of the vitamins we need for healthy, glowing skin. Half a cup of raw broccoli actually contains 65% of your daily value of vitamin C, which not only mops up the free radicals that cause wrinkles and sagging, but can help remove the DNA damage they form.
3. Establish a routine
Get more sleep, keep a trusted skincare routine (wash, exfoliate, tone, treat, moisturize, etc.), drink more water, always remove makeup before bed. If you work hard at first to develop a routine, it will become habit and you will obtain that glowing skin you’ve always wanted. Don’t give up!
4. Get a Murad Healthy Skin Facial
When it comes to skincare, no one has devoted more time and effort to making beautiful, healthy skin attainable for everyone than Howard Murad, M.D., FAAD. Massage Envy has partnered with Murad to bring Healthy Skin Facials to you! From Anti-aging to Clarifying Enzyme Acne Facials, these treatments are your route to glowing skin.
